"Mother Sprite" sculpture installation, Fountaindale House, Nottingham
One of the great things about delivering and installing a sculpture to a client's house, is you get to see
the final part of the client's vision, the sculptures installation point.
On this occasion, my son Jay accompanied me, he is a talented photographer and I'd asked him along
to do a photo shoot of the installation. So, the pair of us left Wiltshire for the day and set off to deliver
and install the "Mother Sprite" sculpture.
I hadn't visited the client's house prior to their commission, so this was the first time I had seen it or
been there and I have to say, it was wonderful, enchanting and magical, just the place for Mother Sprite to take up residence.
The client had selected an amazing installation point for the sculpture, the estate staff really looked after us on the day, assisting us with the installation at every point and having a Digger on site was a huge help.
The client's enthusiasm and creative vision for the Mother Sprite sculpture installation, made the project happen and it was great to be part of bringing it to life.
Fountaindale house is a private residence and is not open to the public. We thank you for respecting the owner's privacy.

"Spirit of the Piano" commission case study, Idaho, America
Working on this particular sculpture was an absolute pleasure. The clients were based in Idaho USA, so the whole design process was collaborated on line, exchanging visuals and ideas via email to achieve the sculptures final look and feel.
The clients owned a beautiful "Steinway grand Piano"and their vision was to introduce an ethereal seated lady, appearing to play it.
The sculpture design brief, was to create a life size feminine piece, projecting, movement and rhythm, with "Crazy Hair".
To achieve the correct scale of the sculpture, the client provided me with the measurements of the piano stool and the height and depth
of the piano itself.
I used these measurements to make a wooden stool and piano fascia, which allowed me to position the finished sculptures fingertips
resting on the piano keys, which in turn created the overall illusion of the sculpture playing the piano.
To achieve the sculptures all-important "Crazy Hair" 280 metres of 0.90 mm mild steel wire was individually woven to the sculptures head and then styled to project the flow and movement of a pianist passionately playing the piano.
I love collaborating with clients to bring their vision for a sculpture to life and "Spirit of the Piano" was definitely one of those commissions.
We also organised the shipping Air Freight from my studio in the UK to the client's home in the USA and I have to say, it was quite sad to see the sculpture leave, as I quite enjoyed having her around playing the piano whilst I worked.
"Spirit of McLaren" commission case study, Geneva, Switzerland
The "Spirit of McLaren" Wire Sculpture was commissioned by McLaren automotive as part of the McLaren 720S car launch,
unveiled at the International Motor show Geneva , Switzerland.
The sculpture brief was to create a muscular, athletic figurative sculpture in a sprinting stance, projecting speed, agility and power.
An extensive study of the world's fastest man "Usain Bolt" was carried out to achieve the look and feel of the final piece.
The finished sculpture was displayed within the McLaren hospitality suite at The Geneva International Motor Show and it was an absolute pleasure to create.

"Spirit of Castara" commission & installation case study, Surrey, UK
The client had a vision for this particular sculpture commission.
As a child the client frequently holidayed with her family on a fishing island called Castara, in the Caribbean and one of her favorite
child hood memories was watching the Castara fishermen bringing in their days catch.
Last year whilst on holiday in Africa, she watched the local fishermen carve out fishing boats from tree's using axes and machete's.
She asked the fisherman if they would make her one for a fee, the fishermen agreed and the client had the boat shipped back to England.
